About Staeboom
STAEBOOM is where I write about ambition, growth, and what happens when the life you worked for starts to feel different than you expected.
For a long time, I thought life moved in a straight line. Work hard. Build the career. Raise the family. Keep pushing forward.
But at some point, the questions start changing.
The goals that once drove you don’t always feel the same. Success looks different, some relationships shift, and you start noticing the space between who you were and who you’re becoming.
This is where I write about that space.
My essays explore ambition, identity, reinvention, and the strange emotional terrain of building a life that both fits and evolves.
Some pieces are personal reflections and others are observations about growth, work, and the expectations we carry as women. All of them are attempts to understand what it means to keep becoming.
If you’ve ever looked at your life and thought, This is good… but something is changing. You’re in the right place.
About Me
I’m Shaunté Young, a writer interested in the intersection of ambition, reflection, and the reinvention that happens as life unfolds. Through STAEBOOM, I write essays that examine the internal shifts many of us experience but rarely talk about out loud.
