I Don't Want To Write About Writing
And yall don't either!
And y'all don't either!

I'm sorry, I don't want to write about writing, and I know deep down, you don't either.
Listen, I want to succeed on this platform and all others. (I'm only on Medium, my blog, and Instagram, but still.)
I'm a black girl who writes about self-care, wellness, and self-improvement. I write in this specific niche because as a black woman, a woman, a human, "we" don't make ourselves a priority. We will, of course, set resolutions and lists before birthdays on how we will become better, but life almost always gets in the way. It's hard for everyone and more complex when you're packing lunches, trying to compost (I mean, eww, but I'm trying), brunching with the girls, lifting a whole 30lbs three times a week (be impressed, I'm up from 10lbs) and keeping it sexy for my man.
Again, I'm a black girl, so I'm also thinking of Amhad Aubrey, the extinction of critical race theory, and because I live in Florida, the possibility of not having a choice if I get pregnant. Oh, and obvi, Covid, student loans, the wrinkles forming under my eyes, my last IG pic, etc.
I write about self-care because it's essential to prioritize ourselves and our holistic health. Crying in your closet, smoking a joint, yoga, all normal and so crucial to our sanity. I don't think people understand how instrumental these small moments are, and I want to teach them.
I want to be all things, try everything, and share with you all. But I also want to be successful. So what do I do? Do I incorporate articles like "How I made $1Million On Medium in 1 Month into my portfolio?" Ok, so no clickbait but seriously. To have writing success, do I need to fall in line? Should I submit stories to writers' publications? Should I change my niche? Do you all even care about crystals and CBD? Is my writing making a difference?
Do you see how I spiraled?
I think there's a lane for people like me who spiral. Hell, at some point, we all spiral in our own way, and we need advice on how to pull it together. I'm the type of girl who needs a 10-second mediation tip and reminded to drink my water. I need to microdose a few shrooms to calm the anxiety. I need a morning, bedtime, beauty, and whatever routine makes me productive throughout the day. Do you all feel that way? I know you do, and I'm your girl, I think.

I'm on a constant journey to become better, exemplify balance and live graciously. I can't go on this ride and not share my experiences. I want to write about wellness, but for me to be "well" more accurately, "financially well," do I need to write about writing? Seriously, comment below. Do I need to?
